Outlander classed as one of America’s 100 best novels
We all know that Outlander is one of the greatest novels on Earth, but do others agree? It seems that way, since the first novel made it to the list of 100 best novels in America.
PBS is getting ready for a new series, focusing on the greatest novels in America. “Outlander” is just one of those that made the cut for American’s 100 best novels. While it looks like the others haven’t followed, at least we got one on the list. The best thing is, the list isn’t ordered yet. This is open to public voting and we all know what Outlander fans are like when it comes to banding together and voting!
In a recent YouGov survey, book readers had the chance to share their favorite novels. The likes of “Nineteen Eighty-Four” by George Orwell and “The Stand” by Stephen King unsurprisingly made the list. Then there were some more current novels, including Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” and Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code.” There are even novels dating back to 1603!

“Outlander” is just one of a number of novels from the last couple of decades, joined by the likes of “A Game of Thrones” by George R.R. Martin” and the “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling (yes, this one is down as the whole series, unlike “Outlander” and the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series). It’s a list full of various genres, showing that anything can be amazing; all it needs it so inspire people. That’s certainly something Diana Gabaldon’s series of novels has done.
From May 22, you’ll get a chance to see the reasons for the novels on the list in The Great American Read. Authors, celebrities, and even “superfans” will share their thoughts on the way the books have touched the hearts of fans. They’ll share inspirations, morals to the stories, and so much more. As the series continues, each novel has a chance to fight for the top stop in America’s 100 best novels.
As part of The Great American Read, fans are encouraged to read as many of the novels on the list as possible. If you’ve already read them then you’re a step ahead of everyone else! The order will be released in October 2018 after all the votes have been counted. This is another chance to get “Outlander” at the top of a list; a place we all know it belongs.
