Steven Cree’s latest movie Outlaw King gets Edinburgh premiere pre-Netflix release
If you’re looking to get something Outlander before November, you’ll want to check out the Edinburgh premiere of Outlaw King. It’s Steven Cree’s latest movie with a lot of connections to your favorite Scottish series.
Outlaw King is Steven Cree’s latest movie. The Netflix Original will star Chris Prine in the lead role of Robert the Bruce and Outlander‘s own Cree as Seton. For those who need something to tide them over before the Season 4 premiere, this movie is premiere in Edinburgh next month.
The Scottish-filmed and based movie isn’t set for release until Nov. 9 on Netflix. However, it’s already premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and is now set for an Oct. 19 premiere date in Edinburgh.

This is exciting news, and not just for Outlander fans looking for something with Cree in to tide them over. The movie is based on Scottish history, dating earlier than the Battle of Culloden. It tells the story of Robert the Bruce, who would take down the English and become the most infamous King of Scotland.
Still not enough for you? Well, it’s also filmed at a number of Outlander locations. One of the spots you’ll recognize is Doune Castle, which served as Castle Leoch in the first two seasons of the time-travel series.
Film Edinburgh has been highly supportive of Outlaw King. Because of this, Avengers: Infinity War, and other movies filmed in the area, an amazing £16.1 million was generated, according to The Scotsman.
If you’re in the city, definitely take a look at attending the premiere. Those who aren’t will be able to catch the movie when it drops on Netflix on Nov. 9. That’s after the Outlander premiere but will tide you over between Episodes 1 and 2.
