People’s Choice Awards backtracks on Outlander eligibility in a good way
Remember when the People’s Choice Awards said that Outlander wasn’t eligible this year? Well, the awards heads have backtracked on that. You’ve got time to vote!
People Choice Awards originally said that Outlander wasn’t eligible for the 2018 season. It was extremely disappointing to hear, especially since had E! not changed the time period of the awards, the show would have been eligible.
What didn’t make sense–and I overlooked it at first–was that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was eligible. This Amazon Prime Original dropped at the end of 2017, the same time Outlander Season 3 aired. If that is eligible, how could Outlander not be?

Well, the good news is that People Choice Awards has backtracked on the decision. It seems like the show is now only eligible for one of the award categories (Bingeworthy Show), but it’s still good news. You’ll need to write the vote in, but you can copy and paste. You will certainly want to do this a few times each day, as voting closes on Sept. 14 and a few other shows have had a head start.
This really is something the People Choice Awards should have made extremely clear to begin with. It shouldn’t take fans messaging to find out if their shows are eligible. Even the cut off date hasn’t been overly clear on the website. It’s almost like the PCAs want a few shows to miss out.
Well, there are four days left including today. Get out there and get Outlander nominated for the People’s Choice Awards 2018. The finalists will be announced on Sept. 24. Hopefully, we’ll be on the list and we can get voting to win!
Personally, I’m confused how it can be eligible for Bingeworthy Show but not the rest of the categories. Maybe you still want to add the show in for other categories. That’s what I’m going each day, anyway.
