Outlander Season 4 filming may continue until the very end of the month if a notice at Faskally Forest is anything to judge.
It looks like Outlander Season 4 filming is heading to Perthshire for the rest of production and will wrap by June 30. At least, that’s what many fans believe after a sign in the woods was photographed and shared on Twitter. While the sign doesn’t state that it is definitely our program, the dates and locations match.
Faskally Forest is located between Edinburgh and Inverness in beautiful Pitlochry. It’s certainly a perfect place to look like the woods and forest land of the Colonies, so it would make sense to use this area for the remaining bits of the fourth season that need filming. Parts of the walks in the area have been cordoned off and diverted to allow for filming to take place without interruption.

Preventing the public getting close will be important for two reasons. The first is to prevent more spoilers being shared online, especially from the filming of the finale. Showrunner Matt B. Roberts and costume designer Terry Dresbach have already shared their disappointment about spoilers being shared online, ruining surprises and storylines, especially for those who haven’t read the novels.
The second reason is to keep the filming on schedule. With a deadline of June 30, the cast and crew will need to stick to the tight schedule. Having the public walk in and out will cause them to stop filming and that pushes them behind. We know they need to stick to the tight filming schedule because the first Outlander convention of the season with Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and other members of the Season 3 and 4 cast is in Paris the first weekend of July. In fact, the first day is June 30, so filming will need to have wrapped by then.
