Starz expands to Australian in Stan deal
Starz continues its global domination by negotiating a deal with Australian streaming service Stan. Outlander will be among original programming available through the service.
Outlander is traveling the globe faster than ever before. Just after bringing all Starz programming to Amazon Prime UK and Germany, the network is now releasing all programming through Australia’s streaming service Stan. All original programming will be available starting this week, which means the season finales of Bittersweet and Vida will both be available on Sunday night in Australia.
The move is similar to that of Amazon Prime’s access to STARZPLAY programming. It will also be similar to that of the deal in Canada with Bell Media. However, Canada’s deal is still being set up and won’t make it to fruition until 2019, unlike with the other global deals.

It’s not clear exactly how this works for Australian customers. UK and Germany viewers will need to pay extra for the Starz subscription through their Amazon Prime accounts, which is the way the access through US Amazon Prime works. However, it sounds like the Australian access will be direct through the Stan access, so no need to pay any extra.
All Starz original programming will be available through Stan. This includes Outlander, which returns in November 2018. The first three seasons may be available to view, along with other past series like The White Queen and The White Princess. It also sounds like all content available through the Starz app will be available to stream, similar to the way Netflix brings licensed content.
Many Starz shows are already available through Stan. This is just continuing the partnership and growing it in ways to help Starz expand and fans get access to the content faster.
