Starz Amazon Prime UK deal: What does it mean exactly for Outlander?

Starz and Amazon Prime UK now have a deal to bring the network to Britain. While Outlander has always been on Amazon Prime, this deal means that you get far more than before.

Outlander has always been on Amazon Prime UK. This has been the way for UK fans to watch the Scotland-filmed show from the very beginning. So, initially, it can seem like the Amazon Prime UK deal with Starz isn’t that different. The truth is the deal will bring far more to your subscription.

To start with, this is an add-on as part of your current subscription. It costs £4.99 per month on top of your current Amazon Prime UK subscription for access to the entire STARZPLAY network. That means every single app connected to STARZPLAY will be open for viewing. This includes the whole of Starz is opened, so you have access to more than just Outlander through this new deal.

On top of that, you will no longer need to wait however long for Outlander to become available. You’ll get episodes at the exact same time as the U.S. viewers. So when a new episode drops at midnight on the day of airing on Starz, you’ll get that episode. An exact time hasn’t been given, but if the show works on timezones instead of a specific U.S. timezone, then hopefully it will be midnight in the UK. You’ll be able to watch with your American cousins!

Plus, you’ll get access to everything else Outlander related that Starz chooses to release, such as teaser trailers. This opens up the whole world of the Starz network to your computer, without you being on the left side of the pond.

There aren’t many countries that have this benefit yet, although Starz is looking to expand. I’m based in Canada and don’t have access to it yet, but hopefully will in 2019 with the new Bell partnership.
