Outlander available through Starz Amazon Prime in UK today

The United Kingdom finally has direct access to Starz from today, after the network expanded its programming through Amazon Prime. That means you can watch Outlander at the same time as those in the U.S.!

Outlander fans in the UK can rejoice. After years of wondering whether it would actually happen, Starz has opted to expand its programming. It’s now available through Amazon Prime in the UK and Germany as of today, bringing all its original programming and more. You can watch to your heart’s content through your Prime access.

This news comes months after Starz announced it was also opening its access to Canada. The Canadians will have to wait a little longer for the deal with Bell to finalize, but it looks like the American cable channel is set to travel the world one nation at a time.

And it is about time! Fans around the world love Outlander, but it’s not always easy to watch it. The love for Outlander, and other original programs like Power, Ash vs. Evil Dead, and Vida, may just have been the reason for the expansion of the service. As more fans search for it and get the DVDs and request it more for their networks, the cable company realizes it has a fan base in other parts of the world that it can connect with.

The downside is that it is an extra on the Amazon Prime membership. That is the same case for those who get Starz through their Amazon Prime membership in the U.S. In the UK and Germany, the Starz add-on is 4.99 Euros, which is about $5.85 with current exchange rates. This doesn’t just bring Starz but all Starzplay channels, bringing you thousands of movies and TV shows.

Starz has also renewed its deal with Amazon Prime U.S. to keep the service as it is right now. The deal with Bell in Canada continues to be negotiated with a roll-out planned for early 2019. There are also plans for 15 more territories to get Starz in the future.
