Like its predecessors, Voyager is getting the 25th-anniversary special edition treatment. You’ll be able to pick up the novel in October 2018.
Many of you won’t believe that “Voyager” turns 25 this year, but it is. And just like its two predecessors, the novel is getting the special edition treatment. A 25th-anniversary version of the novel will be released in October 2018.
Sure, many of you want to know about Diana Gabaldon’s next novel, “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone,” but that’s still being worked on right now. However, this is an important milestone and you get to be a part of it. There are talks of an end of 2018 release date for the ninth book, but the 25th-anniversary special of “Voyager” may change those plans.

The special edition of the third novel, which was the basis for Outlander Season 3, will feature a new cover and some special additions by Gabaldon herself. Nothing about the story will change, so you’ll still find yourself immersed in Claire and Jamie’s lives in the 20 years they were apart and the reunion. Like with both previous novels, there will be a new introduction penned by Herself.
You can already pre-order the novel on Amazon and it will be available for purchase from October 23, 2018.
Fans celebrated the “Outlander” 20th anniversary with a special edition, but waited until the 25-year mark to celebrate “Dragonfly in Amber.” The second novel was released as a special edition just last year (around the same time as the planned date for “Voyager”) and Gabaldon did a special Q&A shortly after the release. Hopefully, something like this will happen again.
The most striking difference in the cover is the detail on the backdrop. There’s also detail within the horseshoe-like crest in the middle. Of course, the label with the 25th Anniversary Edition is also a difference that you would expect. It’s a beautiful cover and I can’t wait to see it in stores.
