Outlander Season 4 will see the infamous Bear Killer scene, but it’s not going to be exact. Would you like it if it changed?
Like with previous seasons of Outlander, fans have a number of moments they would like to see in Season 4. The Bear Killer scene is one of them, which showrunner Ron D. Moore says will happen. However, there is going to be a twist.
Caution: There are spoilers in this about “Drums of Autumn.”
Surprises for the book fans

Both Moore and Sam Heughan (our own Jamie) shares that there will be twists that will surprise the book fans. Both are excited for these changes, so hopefully the book fans will share the same emotions when the scene plays out. At least it sounds like the character in the scene isn’t changing.
While not quite on the same level of expectation as the print shop scene or the turtle soup scene in Outlander Season 3, fans have taken to groups hoping that the Bear Killer scene would be included in the fourth season, based on “Drums of Autumn.” To avoid major spoilers for those who haven’t read the books, the scene involves Jamie and a bear and he becomes known as the “Bear Killer.”
There are plenty of dangers in the New World. A bear is just one of them.
"There’s going to be some surprises there for fans of the books. But it’s fun. It’s a new world and there are a lot of dangers there and the bear is one of them.–Sam Heughan"
Book fans will remember that this isn’t the first animal the main characters have faced. One thing missed out of Outlander Season 1 was the moment Claire was attacked by wolves when Jamie was in Wentworth. This whole scene sets up Claire’s dislike and distrust of Rollo, Young Ian’s half dog-half wolf best friend. It will be interesting to see the story added to make Claire unsure about Young Ian keeping a pet in Season 4.
Fans will be happy to hear that it sounds like Jamie is still involved in this bear killing scene. Many commented how Outlander Season 3 made Claire look like Supergirl and took the focus from Jamie’s abilities, so will want to see more from him in Season 4.
