Outlander Season 4 scene coming to Starz: All you need to know

Starz will air a full scene from Outlander Season 4 this weekend and here’s all you need to know about it.

While Outlander Season 4 still doesn’t have a premiere date, Starz is ramping up its promotion already. It will all start this weekend with a full teaser scene. The network hasn’t shared exactly how long this scene will be, but it should be longer than the 20s teaser released at the end of Season 3 last year.

But when will the teaser scene air? What can you expect from the network? Here’s all the information you need to know.

The date and time:

Starz is airing an Outlander Season 3 marathon on Sunday, Jan. 14 from 09:05 ET. Fans can catch all 13 episodes back-to-back. The teaser will air at the very end of the marathon, at 10pm ET.

Some fans have reported in Facebook groups that their access to Starz doesn’t show this marathon. Entertainment Weekly reports that it will be for Starz subscribers only, but that doesn’t explain whether it’s going to be available through all methods. This is where premium channels and subscription-based models can get a little iffy.

What to expect:

Quite honestly, Starz has been quiet with the information about the Outlander Season 4 scene. It’s likely that it will be from the beginning of the premiere, so picking up with Claire and Jamie finding their way in the Colonies. It will possibly be the two reuniting with Fergus, Marsali and Young Ian, who will all have to survive theshipwrecked Artemis.

There are no clues on how long this scene will be. Most sneak peeks are around a minute or two in length, so this is likely the length for this release. The maximum it is likely to be is five minutes.

The premiere date for Season 4:

It’s looking like fall 2018 is when to expect Outlander Season 4. A premiere date hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but Ron D. Moore has mentioned that he’d like a regular fall premiere for each season. This is why Sony and Starz have entered early talks for future seasons. Chris Albrecht previously shared that he has positive plans for the future of the series, since it is the second-most watch show by females on a premium (paid) network. The only show that beats Outlander is Game of Thrones!

The premiere date is likely to be around the same as Season 3, which was Sept. 10. If the network sticks with the Sunday night (which has proven successful with the increase in viewers) then fans could expect either Sept. 9 or Sept. 16 for a Season 4 premiere.

The live + SD ratings saw a considerably increase between Seasons 2 and 3. Now the multi-platform information is out. The show saw 5.6 million per episode on average across the platforms. This is an increase from 5.2 million per episode in Season 2. As long as the show continues in this direction, there’s a future for it. Starz and Sony would be stupid not to come to some sort of decision.
