At the end of the Outlander season 3 finale, fans got a glimpse of season 4.

Claire and Jamie have finished their voyage. It’s time for a new storyline in the Colony of Georgia, where the two found themselves washed ashore after the terrible storm. Fans got a quick glimpse of Outlander season 4, but it really was just a teaser of the things to come. While many are upset and disappointed, there are a few things to take from it.

#1. Claire and Jamie get some time to relax together

The teaser lasts for just 20 seconds, with about 10 seconds of that being Claire explaining why people came to America. One of the important things to take away is the fact that the two seem at peace; relaxed after everything that has happened.

It’s been a long time since the two have been like this. In fact, they never really have had the chance to take a breath and just enjoy life. It looks like season 4, which is based on the novel “Drums of Autumn,” is going to be that chance.

#2. It’s a chance for a new beginning

Claire explains that people came to America for the “American Dream.” Jamie wants to know if that’s the same as their dream. Claire supposes it is.

Really, they just want a new beginning. A way to live life together and move forward after everything that has happened. They want the chance to be happy and away from the mess and dangers that they’ve always faced (whether together or apart). There’s hope that they can do that in the upcoming season.

#3. There is a sense of freedom

While they get their new beginning, there’s also a sense of freedom. The two get to sit under a tree as Claire discussing what she knows about the future. They were supposed to be making their way to Scotland when the storm wrecked the Artemis and sent them to the shores of Georgia. It appears they’re going to choose to make a home here.

Not only are they free from the Redcoats that seemed to continually breathe down Jamie’s neck, but they appear free from expectations of others. They get to be who they want to be and with each other. Nothing else matters right now.

#4. We don’t know what has happened to the Artemis’ crew

At the end of the finale, the man who found Claire and Jamie mentioned a shipwreck elsewhere on the coast. We can assume that it’s the Artemis. However, there was no mention if what happened to the crew. Have they all made it out alive? Jamie seems to believe that they’ve all perished when Claire asks him about them in the finale, but we get no official confirmation.

Even if you haven’t read the books, there’s a feeling that everyone important has survived. After all, a death has to happen onscreen for it to be real in TV land, right? All we know is the teaser gives us no clue what to expect from the crew of the Artemis.
