There were some beautiful, sad, and funny moments in Outlander season 3’s Uncharted.

“Uncharted” helped to mix humor, anticipation, and heart-warming moments together. It didn’t just tell Claire’s story of finding Jamie, but of Fergus’ story finding a family. It showed how love can make people crazy and how the heroine of the story will do everything she needs to get out of tricky situations.

Outlander season 3 hasn’t been afraid to take some risks. One of those was in “Uncharted,” having 15-20 minutes of the episode dedicated to Claire wandering through the jungle. There were also some moments that everyone knew were going to be instantly loved by the fans.

Here’s a look at the best moments from Outlander season 3, episode 11.

More from Top Moments

#1. Hayes and Leslie’s discussion

When Claire and Jamie are finally reunited on the boat, two of the side characters just can’t help discuss it. Hayes and Leslie talk about how “Mac Dubh’s wife” turns up in some of the strangest of places. She just seems to drop out of the sky. If only they knew how true some of their statements were.

The scene only lasted for about 30 seconds, but it had almost all fans of both series and books giggling. Will they ever learn the full truth about Claire’s ability to drop in from the heavens?

#2. Claire talking to Coco

Father Fogden had some of the best lines of the episode, especially when it came to his coconut, Coco. However, one of the best moments was Claire trying to seriously talk to the Coco in an attempt to convince the priest to help her get to Jamaica right away.

Claire has always shown she is willing to pander to thoughts and beliefs if that would serve her well. There have been a few hair-pulling moments of her lack of respect of 18th century superstitions at times, but she has proven herself adaptable. She’s a survivalist and that’s just what she proved by talking to Coco so seriously.

#3. Marsali and Claire connecting

While this was in the piece about Claire’s best moments from the episode, it’s also a best moment in its own right. Marsali had legitimate worries about her wedding night and beyond. She wants to have a relationship very much like Claire and Jamie’s, and nothing like her mother’s with her multiple husbands. Marsali wants a man who is loving and kind, which she has found in Fergus.

At the same time, she wants to avoid pregnancy for a while. She’s at an age where she just wants to have fun with Fergus. Claire was extremely understanding and kind, promising to discuss things when they get back on board the Artemis. It’s in that moment Marsali accepts that Claire isn’t the she-devil her mother made her out to be.

#4. Mr. Willoughby’s smile

It would be obvious to put the whole turtle soup scene as one of the best moments of Outlander season 3, episode 11. While it was great, it was the slight change to the books by having Mr. Willoughby at the door that made it even better. Mr. Willoughby knew exactly what the two were up to and didn’t feel uncomfortable about it. He was happy that they were back together and enjoying each other’s company. Plus he was happy that Claire was well again.

Mr. Willoughby’s character has changed considerably from the books. So has Claire’s treatment of him. It will be interesting to see if this will change Mr.Willoughby’s storyline this season.

#5. Mr. Willoughby’s apology

After reuniting with Claire and Jamie, Claire realizes that Father Fogden could perform the wedding ceremony for Marsali and Fergus. The problem is Mr. Willoughby devoured Fogden’s precious goat Arabella. It meant Mr. Willoughby needed to do some apologizing.

The scene was sweet. Not only did Father Fogden quickly accept the apology, but there was almost a look from Mr. Willoughby as he tried to work out what he had done wrong. In his mind goats are there to be eaten. It’s that mix of cultures again that has worked so well with Mr. Willoughby’s character around.

#6. Marsali’s responses at the wedding ceremony

During the wedding ceremony, Father Fogden got the groom wrong. After all, Fergus only had one hand. Why would a woman want to marry a man with one hand? Then he worried that poor Fergus wouldn’t have a penis.

While the whole scene was funny, it was Marsali’s responses that were the best. She wasn’t going to take much from the priest, wanting this moment to be special. Marsali told the priest in no uncertain terms to get on with it.

#7. The proud parents confirming their son was a member of the family

The best moment from Outlander’s “Uncharted” just has to be saved until last. It was the moment fans had waited impatiently for. Not only did Fergus officially become a Fraser, but there was a look from both Jamie and Claire that showed Fergus just how proud they were of him.

Then Fergus’ look was one of joy, embarrassment, and shock at the same time. While he’d always viewed Jamie as a father figure, he didn’t want to push the boundaries too much. He didn’t want to chance his luck. This was the moment he realized Jamie and Claire really looked at him the way he looked at them.
