Ron Moore offered some details about Outlander Season 2 recently, specifically talking about shooting in different locations and how Season 2 will come together with several sets and settings, including Prague and Scotland.

More from Outlander News

In a Scotland Now article recently, Ron Moore (Outlander executive producer) talked in detail some about the production of Season 2, including explaining how they used their sets for the show and what viewers can expect from Season 2.

Outlander season 2, so far, will follow book two of the Outlander series, “Dragonfly in Amber.” No release date has been announced, but there have been rumors the Season 2 will coincide with the anniversary of the Battle of Culloden Moor, so perhaps March/April 2016.

In the interview with Scotland Now, Ron said

"“The majority of the shoot is in Scotland. The story is about half in Paris and the second half of the season returns to Scotland. So for the Paris section what we did was built as many of the interiors as we could at our sound stages in Cumbernauld. So there’s Parisian apartments and salons and drawing rooms and that sort of thing which we would build. And we also looked at the surrounding area to see what other houses or historical buildings might have interiors that we can play as French. But for all the exteriors when we have carriages going down the streets in Paris, there’s nothing like that here and even Paris doesn’t look like that anymore. So we went to Prague and shot there for almost two weeks. It just looks like Paris and it’s easier to sort of edit up and make it believe. It’s called cross-boarding and we just took the scenes that were for exterior streets in Paris and we just shot them together at the same time in those two weeks in Prague."
