Who is William shooting in Outlander Season 7B?
There are a few images of William in Outlander Season 7B from the recent drop. One of them gives us a look at him in his uniform holding a pistol. He’s in a barn, and he has a serious look on his face, but who is he planning on shooting?
Caution: We’re delving into Outlander book spoilers for this post.
We don’t get to see anyone else around William. However, there was a previous image released of Young Ian in a barn. He has his hands up. Is it possible that William is going to shoot Young Ian? After all, they have both shown an interest in the same girl.
We can take a look at the books to see which storyline is playing out here. It’s all linked to a certain promise another character made in Outlander Season 7A.
William comes to the rescue in Outlander Season 7B
Young Ian and Rachel Hunter are getting close in Outlander. Young Ian trusts Rachel so much that she is looking after Rollo while Young Ian is in Scotland. This is something Arch Bug noticed in the Outlander Season 7A finale, and it made it clear to him that Young Ian has a love in his life.
Arch wants revenge for the death of his wife. He wants to take the woman Young Ian loves from him in the same way that Young Ian took Murdina Bug.
That’s what goes down in the barn in the Outlander books. By this point, Young Ian has made a promise to Rachel not to be so violent. When Arch takes Rachel hostage and threatens to kill her, Young Ian is stuck. Should he go back on his promise, or risk the loss of Rachel?
William comes to the rescue. He’s the one who kills Arch Bug to save Rachel, allowing Young Ian not to have to break his promise to Rachel.
Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22 on Starz.
