Who is Claire treating in Outlander Season 7B?

Claire won’t spend long in Scotland in Outlander Season 7B. She’s heading back to America within a couple of episodes, and it looks like she’s straight back to work.

There are a few images of Claire back in America, and one of them involves her treating a patient. That patient is in a bed in a house, and things don’t look great for him.

We also see her with Lord John Grey and then with Denny in the same outfit she’s wearing when treating the patient. This suggests that the images are from the same episode and storyline. It helps to narrow things down from the books.

This image is likely taken from the storyline when Claire is in Philadelphia. We know that Philadelphia is going to be a location based on the fact that the series turned Liverpool into the city for filming.

When Claire heads back to America, she ends up with a request from Lord John Grey. His nephew, Henry, needs medical attention. Denny has tried, but there’s only so much he can do. Claire goes in with her extensive medical knowledge. It turns out that he was severely injured during a battle.

This is when Mercy Woodcock shows up, a character we know will appear at some point in Outlander Season 7B. In the book, Mercy doesn’t know if her husband is alive or dead, but Claire works out that she did treat him and his leg was amputated. There was a chance that he didn’t survive. In the show, we know that her husband is definitely dead as Claire helped to ease his pain.

Mercy falls for Henry Grey while helping to look after him. With her husband definitely dead in the series, it helps to keep the focus on their story.

It looks like all of this is going to play out in Outlander Season 7B. Does this mean we’ll see John’s brother Hal? What about Dottie? There are still so many characters in the book who haven’t shown up, but having Henry opens the door for some of them.
