Where is Jemmy MacKenzie in Outlander Season 7B based on the books?

There is a lot going on in Outlander Season 7B. For Brianna and Roger, they are separated by time, with Roger in the past looking for Jemmy MacKenzie. The question is where is Jemmy?

At the end of Outlander Season 7A, Jemmy was taken by Rob Cameron. Rob had learned that Jemmy knew where some gold was, but it would mean going to the past. That took the MacKenzies to the stones, where Roger and Buck were ready to go back in time to save Jemmy.

They think that Jemmy is in 1768, the time that Buck is from. That’s why Buck went with Roger. It turns out that there is something more going on.

Jemmy MacKenzie isn’t in the past in Outlander Season 7B

The book Written in My Own Heart’s Blood tells us what happened to Jemmy. Rob didn’t take him to the past at all. It doesn’t look like Rob can time travel. Instead, Rob took Jemmy to the damn where he works, and Jemmy is able to get out of there thanks to listening to his mom sharing the story of being locked in there and having to find her way through.

Mandy is able to sense that Jemmy is in the same time as them. She and Brianna find him, and now they need to find a way to get word to Roger. That’s impossible with Roger being in the past, though.

Realizing that she’s not safe at Lallybroch, Bree takes her children and they head to America at first. Brianna needs to work out what to do, leading to her finding out where Roger is in the past.

The good news is Jemmy is safe and with his mom. We’re sure to see that reunion happen in Outlander Season 7B. The question then will be if we’ll see Roger reunited with his family in the same season or if we’ll have to wait until Season 8.
