Starz confirmed Outlander: Blood of My Blood is coming in 2025

We finally got a look at Claire and Jamie’s parents in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Along with the images, Starz also confirmed the year the prequel series will arrive.

It was easy to miss this news. In the press release sent by Starz, we got confirmation that Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere in 2025. The bad news is that we don’t have an exact date, but we’re not expecting it in early 2025.

I’m looking at later on in the year. Production of the series only started in January, and Starz confirmed that production is still underway. Then there is all the post-production work that is needed. We’re expecting filming to wrap sometime at the end of this year. With post-production taking around the same amount of time as production due to all the graphics needed for period dramas, we’re not expecting the show any time soon.

Fall 2025 would make sense. This would also help explain why Outlander Season 7B was pushed to the end of 2024 despite mostly being ready earlier. Starz will want to space out all of its Outlander content considering Season 8 has just started production.

We’re not expecting the eighth and final season until 2026. That’s at least a rough expectation based on filming only starting in the spring. Blood of My Blood airing in between the two seasons will help to reduce Droughtlander for many people. Sure, not everyone is interested in the prequel series, but there are a lot of people who are, and it will help to fill a gap in the way that Men in Kilts did.

The series will be set in two time periods, following parallel love stories. We know a little about Jamie’s parents, but now it’s time for the full story. As for Claire’s parents, we know barely anything, and now it’s time to see who they were before having Claire.
