Will Hal Grey be in Outlander Season 7B?

There are a few characters from the Outlander books we may not get to meet. Hal Grey is one of them.

Not all characters in the Outlander books can make it to the show. There just isn’t enough time for all the stories to be told, and the show writers need to make sure the important storylines are covered.

Yes, even if the writers didn’t add their own storylines in, some storylines would need to be skipped over. Let’s stop blaming the “waste of time” journey through the stones or the ether storyline as reasons other storylines are skipped. There just really isn’t enough time to do everything justice. Either do it well, or don’t do it at all.

We know that Maril Davis and co. wanted to add Dottie Grey into the story, but there wasn’t enough time. This could hint that there won’t be the time for her father, Hal Grey, to turn up.

We have already met Hal Grey. He was in the Outlander Season 3 premiere when he saved Jamie’s life and then again in Season 3 when he came to talk to Lord John Grey at Helwater. We haven’t seen him since, but he turns up in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. Is it possible that we’ll see him in Outlander Season 7B?

Hal Grey probably won’t be in Outlander Season 7B

Hal does play a role in Claire’s storyline in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood. However, there are ways around the storyline if he’s not included. The rest of his storylines in the Outlander books aren’t all that necessary for the overall plot. So, he could be skipped over.

Lord John Grey could take up a lot of the moments instead. And I actually doubt that the Lord John Grey storyline is going to be used heavily in the Outlander series. He didn’t have a large role in Season 7A, and I can’t see that changing in the second half of the storyline. The biggest storyline we’re sure to see is that one with Claire in Philadelphia when Jamie is presumed dead. You know the one I’m talking about.

It is sure to be disappointing to many who would like to see the Greys get more screentime. I actually think we need a Grey spin-off to do the characters justice.
