When we ended Outlander season 7A, we saw Roger and Buck head back in time to 1778. Only, they didn’t end up there. Outlander season 7, episode 9 took them to 1739.
Roger’s mission hasn’t changed. He needs to find his son, Jemmy, and he will stop at nothing to find him. However, there are a few issues that have come up, one of them being Buck’s heart problems. Roger needs to pause his search for Jemmy, but not for long.
The big question for many is why Roger and Buck aren’t in the time that they expected to be in. Why did Rob Cameron end up taking Jemmy to a different time. Well, Outlander season 7, episode 9 teased the reasons.
Who is the ferryman in Outlander season 7, episode 9?
Brian Fraser took Roger to see Ian Murray’s father. This led to the conversation of a ferryman. Mr. Murray shared that this ferryman was dressed in odd clothing, which is a hint to us and Roger that it’s a man from another time period.
A child wasn’t spotted with this ferryman. This could mean a couple of things. Jemmy may not have ended up getting through the stones with Rob, and now Rob is trying to figure out what’s happened to Jemmy. Or it’s possible that Jemmy got away from Rob and is lost somewhere. Alternatively, this ferryman may not even be Rob Cameron.
Roger is naturally going to jump to the conclusion that Rob is the man the people are talking about. That seems the most likely thing considering everything that Roger knows. But what if that’s not the case? What if there is someone else?
This ferryman is connected to Roger. We’ve actually spotted what this is building to in the Outlander season 7B trailer. There was a shot of a man riding a horse with Roger and Buck beside him.
Roger thinks he’s in 1739 for Jemmy, but he’s there for some very different and still important reasons.
