There is no doubt that Lord John Grey needs an Outlander spinoff series of his own. There’s even a whole novella set based on his story, and we know that David Berry would be interested in delving deeper into the character.
However, there are many other Outlander characters who need to have their stories told. The earlier seasons only just scratched the surface, and there is a world of detail in the books. Here are three that I would love to learn much more about.

What did Frank Randall really know in Outlander?
It’s been clear from the start that Frank Randall knew something more than he was letting on. In the Outlander books, we know he did some research into Jamie Fraser, and he likely found out that not only would Claire go back to him, but that Brianna would follow her through the stones. Why else would he make sure his daughter was prepared with a rifle?
So, what exactly did he know? That’s what I’m intrigued by. Diana Gabaldon says that she has some parts of a book focused on the character, and this could be a great way to expand the TV universe. After all, the show already changed a point with making it clear in the series that Frank did have an affair (Gabaldon has always said he didn’t, but that Claire suspected it in the books), but that affair was likely a front for something.

How did Geillis learn all about time travel?
Before Geillis went to the past, she was a young woman in 1968 fighting for an independent Scotland. It’s because of her research that Claire and Roger learn a little more about time travel, but there’s so much we don’t know about her and about why she looked into time travel in the first place.
While we think we know her story from Outlander, there is a lot more to delve into. She is a woman of ulterior motives, but she was also willing to sacrifice herself at the witch trials to help Claire survive. Why would she do that when she wanted to fight for an independent Scotland? We need a spinoff series.

Who really is Master Raymond?
In Outlander season 2, we met Master Raymond, who immediately knew that Claire was someone special. He can tell who the time travelers are. At least, that’s the way it seems, and he is supposed to be the father of time travelers. However, the series only scratched the surface, and the books haven’t had a chance to delve too much into him either but has offered a few other tidbits.
With Raymond’s appearance in Outlander season 7, there are certainly more questions about who he is and what he knows. Now it’s time for the series to catch up on his story, and the best way to do that with a spinoff series.
