With Outlander season 8 just around the corner, we’re going to start hearing more and more about it. As part of the 12 Days of Christmas, which started on Sunday, Dec. 14, the official Outlander social media accounts have released a few goodies, and one of those was a set of marketing images for the season.
The images are mostly all about our favorite couples, but there is one of a certain group of men we’re looking forward to seeing interact a lot together in the final season. These images tell us who will be front and center when it comes to the final stories, and it continues to highlight the fears that a certain devastating death is going to happen, just as we’ve mentioned before that claireandjamie.com.
Claire and Jamie get two portraits for Outlander season 8
Let’s just start with our favorite couple of the series: Claire and Jamie. They get two full portraits, with the standing stones just behind them. In one of the images, Jamie has his plaid wrapped around Claire, bringing callbacks to the earlier seasons of the series.
Then in the second image, we get more of a Revolutionary War look. Claire is in his leather jacket, while Claire wears a gorgeous coat with a brown leather belt. Jamie’s pistol sits snuggly in his belt as Claire leans into him, showing off her wedding ring from Jamie.
These are the reminders we need that this is Claire and Jamie’s story. At least, for the most part.
Other couples get some time to shine
There will be time spent on other couples throughout Outlander season 8, and one of those is the MacKenzies. As we mentioned before at claireandjamie.com, the teaser already hints that Brianna and Roger are heading back through the stones to the 1770s, and these images suggest the same thing.
There’s an image of Brianna and Roger with Claire and Jamie, reminding us that this show has focused heavily on this family. Then there’s another image of just the MacKenzies, with a cart full of luggage behind them. They’re dressed in clothing that suits the 1770s, and it looks like they’re on the road. Is this to get back to Fraser’s Ridge, or is this to do their part in the Revolutionary War?
Young Ian and Rachel are the next on the list, as they look at each other in a loving way. The two got married during Outlander season 7B, after Ian finally felt he was safe enough to give his heart over to someone else with Arch Bug long gone. Rachel may be a Quaker, but she also loves Young Ian for who he is.
Finally, there’s Fergus and Marsali, who will be back on Outlander season 8. It’s the first time in a season that we’ve seen them, and we’ll get to see what Fergus has made of himself after struggling to view himself as a man of worth.
A trio of men on Outlander season 8
The final image is that of John, William, and Jamie. The three men have had a turbulent relationship over the last season, with Jamie almost blinding Lord John Grey and dealing with the fallout of William learning the truth about his paternity. While it looked like the two could mend fences, that’s not likely the case just yet.

However, William can’t run away from who he is. He is the son of Jamie, while also being the son of Lord John Grey. After all, John raised him as his own, and there is a lot to say about that.
