After a tough night at Scotland Yard, Inspector Blake realized just how much he loves Eliza Scarlet. However, is this going to be enough for them to make things work on Miss Scarlet?
Up to this point, there have been some issues in the relationship. Granted, some of the issues are understandable and valid, but they need to work through these issues together. Is love really going to be enough?

Blake and Eliza need to set boundaries with work on Miss Scarlet
From the beginning of Miss Scarlet season 6, it was clear that work would be an issue for Blake and Eliza. They both work in areas that require some confidentiality and secrecy, and that means they can’t always tell each other about what they’re doing or where they’re going.
At first, they decided not to talk about work because Eliza was jealous when Blake would hire other private detectives to help on cases to avoid showing favoritism. That rule didn’t stick for a long time, though, and we noted that it could end up being a problem for them. After all, they clearly didn’t have anything to talk about other than work.
Now, Blake got upset when Eliza lied about why she was going to Southampton. The simple fact is that she had to, because Patrick Nash was her client in that instance. Plus, letting people know why she was really going to Southampton would have given everything away about the diamond and could have put Eliza in danger. Sure, Blake would keep it to himself, but he would be overprotective of Eliza, and that would have caused issues as well.
The two need to set some boundaries about their work and when white lies need to be told. And they need to respect each other when it comes to not being able to tell the full story.

Blake needs to learn not to act in anger or out of fear
Another issue is the way Blake can act first and then reconsider his actions later on Miss Scarlet. After finding out that his daughter went to the British Museum after getting the idea from Eliza, he immediately blamed Eliza for Sophia’s actions. It wasn’t fair on Eliza at all, and Blake hasn’t really apologized for that.
During the case with Phelps, he was annoyed that Eliza wouldn’t tell him the truth about Southampton and that she was working for Phelps on the current murder investigation without telling him. He decided to sulk rather than have an adult conversation with her about it.
Sure, Eliza isn’t innocent in sulking, considering the way she reacted when she learned Blake was hiring other private detectives, but she did understand it in the end. They both need to learn how to communicate better if they want to make this relationship work, though. Love is not going to be enough.
Miss Scarlet airs on Sundays at 8/7c on PBS.
