Julia immediately recognized Henry’s handwriting in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 7. She got the information that she needed, but what can she do with it right now?
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 7.
Up to this point in the series, Julia had no idea that Henry was in the past searching for her. She believed that he was in his own time with Claire, so now that she knows Henry is in the past, there are likely a lot of questions circulating her head.
The way Julia has learned the truth about Henry being in the past is just so perfect for their story. Of course she would know his handwriting at first glance. His handwriting was what she knew of him from the start.

Julia and Henry’s love story started with letters in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
From the second episode, we learned that Julia and Henry “met” through letters. Henry had written to nobody and everyone all at once, and that first letter went into Julia’s hands. She felt compelled to write back, and that started their love story.
For months, Julia would have seen Henry’s handwriting staring at her. She would have likely analyzed the way he wrote, and she would have noticed if there was a change in situation based on the way his handwriting looked at the time. So, the idea of her just glancing at some letters on Simon’s desk and knowing they were from Henry makes the perfect sense in Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
The idea that Julia finds Henry is in the past via a letter is poetic, but it’s also bittersweet. Julia has no idea that he was here for so long, and now she’ll know that he came through the stones and probably started his search for her.

Julia doesn’t have many choices with this information
The problem now is that Julia needs to find a way to get word to Henry. What she doesn’t know is that Henry believes her and their son to be dead. That’s the lie he’s been told, forcing Henry to remain in the Grant’s employ without the hope of finding his wife again.
At the same time, Julia isn’t in a position to be able to just write to the Grants. Not just yet. She’s going to need to build up some trust with Simon and then find a reason to write to the Grants bladier. That would get the letter to Henry, who would immediately recognize Julia’s handwriting.
However, there is another option. She could get word via either Brian or Davina. Brian probably won’t want to act against his father knowing what could happen to Davina, though. Plus, he has his own issues to deal with learning about the seeds of doubt spread about Ellen MacKenzie.
So, it falls on Davina, and Outlander: Blood of My Blood has already set up a way to allow this to happen. Brian made a point that people take no notice of servants, so Davina could have a reason to speak with the Grant servants. This could then get word to Henry to get him to Castle Leathers.
With Simon already in touch and friends with Isaac Grant, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch for Henry to need to head out there. Little do the Grants know that Julia is there.
