Eagle-eyed fans have spotted something that could hit that Henry Beauchamp travels forward in time in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Or it could be some poor location choices.
We already know that Henry can time travel from the trailer of the Outlander prequel series. He’s spotted toward the end of it with a young Ned Gowan, and the only way for that to be possible is for one of them to time travel. It makes sense that it’s Henry considering we meet an older Ned Gowan when Claire goes back in time.
However, keep watching the trailer. There’s a hint that he could go forward in time first.

Henry seems to be in a time after World War II
The Outlander: Blood of My Blood trailer hints that Henry Beauchamp travels to a time after World War II. Head to around the 1 minute 50 second mark in the trailer, and then pause it. This is very quick, and you need to look at the building in the background.
In the top left of the screen on the building, you’ll see 1939-1945 etched into it. This is clearly a World War II memorial, which would suggest that Henry travels to a time after this.
Is it possible that he travels to around the 1950s or 1960s, when Claire will be grown up and have just gone through her initial time in the past? Could he learn that his brother has died and that his daughter married Frank Randall? Nothing about Jamie would have been said, so Henry wouldn’t know that she went to the past.
This could be bad location planning for Outlander: Blood of My Blood
Of course, there is a chance that this is a blooper of sorts. It could have been a wonderful location for filming, and nobody noticed that the war memorial date showed up. I don’t think that’s the case in Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
I do think that Henry travels forward in time. We know that time travel is linked to thoughts, and going forward in time to see Claire makes a lot of sense. While he’s also thinking of Julia, he’s possibly thinking of his daughter Claire, worried about what could happen to her if he doesn’t find his wife.
It’ll be interesting to see first-hand what it’s like for someone to go forward in time. At least jumping to around the 1950s from the 1920s isn’t going to be a jarring as someone from the 1700s traveling forward 200 years.
We already know it’s possible to travel more or less than the 202 years, as both Geillis and Roger have done it. So, I suspect we’ll see Henry travel forward on his search for Julia.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres on Friday, Aug. 8 on STARZ.
