Ncuti Gatwa will soon be back on our screens as Fifteen. Disney+ has set a return date for Doctor Who, and we can’t wait!
This is technically the 15th season of New Who. With the move to Disney+ in all areas outside of the UK, it has been reclassified as “season 2.” It does get rather confusing, right?
When will Doctor Who return to Disney+?
The new season will arrive on Sunday, April 12 on both Disney+ (internationally) and BBC (in the UK). This season will see Gatwa team up with Varada Sethu, who becomes the new companion, Belinda Chandra. However, Ruby Sunday fans get some good news. Millie Gibson will reprise her role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It’s just not clear how many episodes she’ll be in and whether she’ll go on any adventures with The Doctor and his new companion.
As usual, there are a few guest stars to look out for. Rose Ayling-Ellis, Anita Dobson, Ruth Madeley, and Jemma Redgrave are all confirmed. And yes, even Susan Twist is confirmed as returning, which is interesting considering it seemed her inclusion in each episode seemed to be concluded with the previous season finale.
Alan Cumming will be in an episode of Doctor Who season 15
Ala Cumming is already a favorite in the Doctor Who universe. He appeared in a 2018 episode as King James I. However, he’s back on the series. At least, his voice is!
He’ll voice the cartoon character Mr. Ring-A-Ding, who manages to break out of the world that he is supposed to be in. Mr. Ring-A-Ding has spend decades in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally. Now he’s in the real world, and that means some terrifying consequences for all. This certainly gives off some vibes of a few other shows that have involved creepy cartoon characters that attack children and want to take over the world.
If you thought Doctor Who was already crazy enough, get ready for an exciting season!
