When it comes to the second day of a Sasnak City event, expect a lot of movement. There is always something going on, and you need to listen to all announcements. That was important during The Gathering 2024.
One thing I will say is that Day 2 quickly fell behind because people weren’t listening. They didn’t listen out for their names being called, and they weren’t paying attention about where they needed to be. It led to people missing out on things, and it meant problems for the rest of the day.
Day 2 did catch up, though. It meant that everything that was supposed to happen could happen, but it’s so important to listen and be in the right places. While this isn’t like a big convention where nobody knows you, there are still expectations to pay attention.
More photos, autographs, and meet and greets
Day 2 is a chance for more people to get their photos and autographs. This is where things slowed down in the morning—and yes, part of it was the cast turning up a little late! I love Celeb Photos who do the photography because they are able to get things flowing and make sure people get through the line quickly.
The autographs do take up a little extra time because some of the cast members like to chat. If you found yourself stuck here, then I can commiserate. I was helping to guide some of the lines to get people through and watched how certain cast members loved to chat.
There were more meet and greets during the day, including the second ones for Lauren and Tim. Those who paid for a Lauren or Tim meet and greet and didn’t get into the groups on Day 1 were on the list for Day 2. This was indicated in your packet so you knew when to line up.
Of course, there was a panel. This wasn’t quite as crazy and wild as the Day 1 panel. It was a great chance to hear from the cast about favorite filming locations, memorable moments, and more. Outlander TikTok took to the stage to ask questions during the panel as well. Sarah Mast, who started the TikTok, was one of the team members this year.
All the questions come from attendees. All questions are submitted ahead of time via email and then written out by the panel moderators. This helps to keep things running smoothly. It actually started during the strike action to help avoid issues with questions that the cast wouldn’t be allowed to answer and has continued because it works so well.
Lallybroch events happen on Saturday night at The Gathering 2024
Saturday night is the big one for all, but especially for Lallybroch ticket holders. It all starts with the Chocolate Shop, which is another round-robin with selfies. This is only for Lallybroch ticket holders and not for sale, keeping the event intimate and fun.
After that, it’s all about Blue Mountain Tipples and Nibbles. All Lallybroch ticket holders get to go as part of their tier, and there are some tickets available to purchase as well. During registration, there is usually a signup sheet for people to make sure they’re at tables with their friends. That didn’t happen this year, and the tables were set up later on. While it’s great to sit with friends, this is more about getting to hear from the cast, so I don’t think it really matters if you’re not with people you know well.
There are no selfies at Blue Mountain. This is purely just to get to know the cast better.
Of course, there is the Saturday Night Party. This happens as Blue Mountain starts, so some people are out there having fun from the start. Then after Blue Mountain, everyone is able to join.
The cast did come out on the dancefloor for a couple of songs. We got to teach them how to do The Wobble. This part of the night has no video and no photography, except by the Sasnak City owner herself, so it’s a chance for the cast to be able to dance without being too concerned about things. We want to have these nice things, so it’s important to respect the rules.
The event ends at 10 p.m. local. It’s time for people to decide what they want to do afterward, whether that’s going out to another bar, going home/to the hotel, or grabbing a late bite to eat. It’s completely up to you! Have fun!
