While Bridgerton season 4 is happening, we always knew that there would likely be a long wait for the season. This type of show takes a lot of work in terms of both production and post-production, and that means we knew we would likely not get a new season in 2025.
Netflix has now confirmed the release year, confirming what we expected. We will need to wait until 2026, but at least Netflix has made it a little easier with a teaser for Bridgerton season 4.
Benedict Bridgerton meets the Lady in Silver in Bridgerton season 4
The fourth season is focused on Benedict Bridgerton’s story. He is the second son of the family, and he’s focused on definlyte not settling down. Well, that is until he attends his mother’s masquerade ball and falls for the Lady in Silver.
The teaser for Bridgerton season 4 gives us that moment as he walks around the ballroom, ignoring the calls from others to get his attention. His mind is on finding the Lady in Silver, who seems mesmerized by the chandelier. While Benedict can’t see her full face and has no idea who she is, he is caught in a trance.
However, before he gets a chance to ask her to dance, someone else comes up behind her and offers her the next dance. She accepts, and now Benedict will need to figure out who this mysterious woman is.
When in 2026 could Bridgerton season 4 arrive?
Now the question is how long we’ll need to wait in 2026. That’s something Netflix hasn’t confirmed. There isn’t a season, which would suggest that we’ll need to wait until at least the summer. At this point, if it was going to arrive in early 2026, that’s something the teaser would have stated.
Filming only started on Bridgerton season 4 in September 2024. It can take months to get through filming and then even longer to get through post-production. Little to people realize but period dramas still require a lot of CGI to get rid of things like gutters and signposts from the filming locations. This is what takes so long to craft such a beautiful series.
While we did think early 2026 at first, the fact that Netflix is only giving the year makes us second guess that. I’d say potentially May 2026 as a release date, but I’m not betting on anything just yet! At least we have 2026 confirmed now.
