It doesn’t really matter how much people talk of a series, we’re never certain of the future until the network confirms it. Well, Netflix has finally offered some excellent news about Bridgerton’s future, and you’ll be forgiven if you missed it.

Bridgerton is gearing up for its fourth season. That season is confirmed for 2026, which matches the predictions based on comments after the third season aired. It will follow Benedict Bridgerton, the second son who is not one to settle down. That is until he meets the right woman.

However, the exciting news is nothing to do with the fourth season. It’s about the future of Bridgerton on Netflix.

Bridgerton season 5 (and more!) is happening at Netflix

In true Bridgerton fashion, Lady Whistledown shared the excellent news via social media. Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for both seasons 5 and 6! Yes, it landed a two-season renewal, which is unheard of when it comes to Netflix shows.

Of course, this does lead to some concerns that the series will end with the sixth season. However, there are eight siblings and eight books, so there is hope that Netflix will get us to the end of this story. The sixth season hasn’t been announced as the final season, so let’s not worry too much just yet.

Having two seasons confirmed at the same time is excellent. It means that work on season 5 can start as soon as work on season 4 wraps, and then the storylines can all combine, shortening the break between the seasons and setting up a little more foreshadowing. As long as each season focuses on individual Bridgerton siblings, I’ll be happy with some teases of other storylines to come.

Who will Bridgerton season 5 focus on?

There were debates over whether Bridgerton season 4 would finally focus on Benedict or whether the series would jump to Francesca’s storyline. Well, now we know that season 4 is all about Benedict, which suggests that season 5 will be all about Francesca. Her storyline seems to have a gender flip storyline going on in the TV series, which certainly opens up some intriguing changes in terms of a love story in the 18th century.

As for Bridgerton season 6, we’d expect it to focus on Eloise. Of course, the series could switch the two around, putting Eloise’s story in season 5 and making us wait for Francesca for season 6!

With Bridgerton season 4 coming in 2026, there is a lot of time for the writers to plan the next two seasons. At least we know we have plenty of the series to work through in time!

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix.
