We’ve reached the penultimate episode of Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, and that means there is plenty of suspense and action to come. There may even be hope of another reunion.
Henry has learned that his wife and child did survive childbirth after all. Now he needs to figure out a way to find Julia again, and Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 9 seems to have a solution for that.
Meanwhile, Malcolm wants to push up the wedding date, making it clear that he wants Ellen to be with him. However, tensions continue to rise for the Jacobites.
Take a look at the promo and synopsis for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 9 before we get into the breakdown:
All the Highland clans attend the Earl of Mar's annual hunting event at Braemar Castle, where the Earl makes an inflammatory proclamation.
Everyone is gathered in one place
It’s time for the Earl of Mar to come into the story, taking us to Braemar Castle. That makes sense considering the title of the episode is Braemar. Previously at ClaireandJamie.com, we did wonder if this episode would mark a big battle in the First Jacobite Rebellion, but instead, it seems to just help to kickstart the rebellion in full.

It does mean that everyone is gathered in one place. And we mean everyone! The MacKenzies, Grants, Frasers, and more are all in attendance, and this could threaten safety, lives, and even freedom.
Malcolm’s uncle steps up in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
With the death of Isaac Grant, Malcolm is sure to become laird. However, he’s not stepping up into that position just yet. At least, that’s the way it seems. Instead, his uncle is playing a bigger role now, and he has a threat toward Ellen.
He’s making it clear that he will do whatever he can to protect his nephew. It’s clear that Malcolm has genuine feelings for Ellen, and maybe his uncle can tell that she wants to be with someone else. Is there hope for Brian and Ellen?

Simon Fraser seems to worry about something
There’s a clip of Brian and Ellen touching each other’s hands, and then we cut to Simon Fraser with a concerned look on his face. However, this probably isn’t at his son’s actions. After all, he’s happy that his son has “ruined” Ellen.
It’s possible that the looks are toward Julia and the child. He wants to believe that this boy is his, but with Henry around, there’s a chance that Julia could give something away that her husband is here.
Henry is looking for a way to get to Julia in Blood of My Blood
Henry has a renewed sense of hope. Julia and William are alive, and now he needs to get to her. Fortunately, she’s at Braemar Castle, which is where he also is. This opens the door for them to be together, but it’s still not going to be so easy.
He will turn to Ned for some help in the matter, but it looks like it’s not just Ned. Brian is also going to help pass a message onto Henry, which is so reminiscent of the way Julia was able to get a message to Ellen.

Dougal’s secrets are about to come out
Dougal is keeping a secret from Colum, and it’s got nothing to do with the Jacobites. Of course, Colum knows that Dougal leans toward the Jacobites, so that won’t be the surprising thing. As Colum asks “What are you hiding from me?”, it’s got to be something to do with Ellen and Brian.
Dougal still hasn’t told Colum that he saw Ellen and Brian together outside of the Nairnes’ house. Now that everyone is together and there’s a bigger threat to the Grant-MacKenzie wedding, Dougal is sure to need to spill the beans to his brother.
