Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
Most of the events happening in this chapter are plot points. We see Fergus turn up to get Germain and see Percy. This combines these two elements of the story: Germain getting back home and Percy finding Fergus finally.
The only foreshadowing is that Claire needs to do something for John. Even then, that’s more plot development than foreshadowing.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
Will the chapter be used in the series? I do think this adds a bit of humor, which would be great to add in, but it’s not that part that I’ve been questioning. It’s the Percy part.
Up to this point, I’ve thought there’s too much to add in with so little time in the TV series. I still think the Percy/John parts will be avoided. Or if they are used, they will be heavily condensed. I think this part of Percy’s story could be used. It won’t be too hard to bring in this man for an episode to share everything that’s happened.
I could see just one episode on this to tie up Fergus’s storyline in Outlander Season 8. Could the series bring in the theory that we all have about who his father is?
