Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Claire worrying about John. He surrendered in front of people, so that means everyone will find out that he is the enemy. Claire needs to find a way to help him.

Before she can even consider this, Germain comes back with news that the man who took Clarence is outside. He’s in need of medical attention. Clarence bit the man to the bone. Of course, the thief wants to beat the mule to death, but Claire isn’t going to let that happen.

Germain had gone off in search for Clarence while Claire treated her patient without much sympathy. When she realizes this, she wants to find him. She catches Percy’s eye and he goes off to find Clarence.

When Percy returns with Germain on Clarence, the thief attacks. There is a fight that starts out, with Clarence trying to bite the thief’s nose off and the thief biting Clarence’s lips. Fergus turns up and shoots his pistol at the thief’s feet.

By this point, a crowd has turned up. Fergus is able to prove that Clarence is his. Now he can make it clear to Germain that they need to talk when they get home. He then turns to Percy and says the same. It seems that Fergus has heard Percy is looking for him.
