Just the Outlander chapter

This is a very short chapter, where we see John do what he needs to so he can survive. He pretends to be an American rebel, fighting purely for the cause. Of course, he can’t tell these rebels the truth. If they find out that he’s a British officer or even just one of those on the side of the Crown, he’ll surely be executed as a spy.

John has been a spy in the past, though. He can use his skills to his advantage, making sure he says what he needs to so he can get through the night. All he wants to do is to get back home, and this is the best way to get to that.

We get to see John’s way of thinking throughout this. He also takes a leaf out of Jamie’s books when it comes to naming himself. He uses his middle names, and I just love it.

The one thing John doesn’t have yet is the freedom to go where he chooses. He can’t just leave for his home in Philadelphia just yet, but he is one step closer to doing it.
