Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

Poo, John. There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing in this chapter. It’s mostly about plot development for the character. However, I want to speculate something.

Is it possible that John will end up changing sides? Will he realize that Claire has always told the truth? Will he see that the American side is the one to fight on, especially with the predicament he’s ended up in during the ninth book? I do wonder if this is foreshadowing of that.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I would love to see Lord John Grey’s story used in Outlander Season 8, but I don’t think there will be enough time. It’s the final season, and there is so much else to cover. I think a lot of John’s capture will be reduced a little to fit in with the episodes available—and that’s going to depend on just which books the show uses for the final season.

If we do see parts of John being captured, I could see this part being used. We need to see that he is willing to do what needs to be done for survival. We also need to see him take Jamie’s method of naming himself as an inspiration for survival.
