We left Jamie racing against time to get to Claire at the end of Outlander Season 6. Will he get to her in Season 7? Do we really doubt that?
Once again, Claire and Jamie were separated in Outlander. Claire was left to be taken to Wilmington where she’ll face a sham of a trial for murder. Richard Brown arranged for Jamie to be sent back to Scotland.
Brown’s plans for Jamie were thwarted when Young Ian turned up with the Cherokee and John Quincy Myers. Now the group are riding across North Carolina to get to Wilmington in time to save Claire. Are they going to manage it?
Who will save Claire in Outlander Season 7?
We don’t doubt that Jamie will get to Claire. We don’t doubt that something will happen to save Claire from the sham of a trial. The question is whether it’s going to be Jamie or not.
We can always look at A Breath of Snow and Ashes for the answers. In fact, for the sake of this post, that’s what we’re going to look at. So yes, there are some spoilers in this post.
It isn’t going to be Jamie who saves Claire. Sure, he’ll get to Wilmington and the two will be reunited, but Jamie isn’t going to be the one who gets Claire out of trouble this time. It’s going to be someone you least expect.
There is one person on Claire’s side already in Wilmington. Tom Christie knows deep down that Claire didn’t kill Malva. He also knows that Claire was in grave danger if she did go with Richard Brown alone. That’s why he stayed with her, and it’s why he’s given her money for her maintenance while in jail. That’s the least he can do right now.
He’ll go one step further, though. He has one trick up his sleeve to help save Claire.
Why would he even want to save Claire? Well, he loves her. He is also a man who does mostly want to do the right thing. Letting Claire be executed for a crime she didn’t commit is not the right thing.
This is how it will all play out if the series sticks to the books. However, I will be interested in seeing how the Cherokee play a part in Wilmington considering they weren’t there in the books from what I can remember.
