Roger and Brianna were on a very different road trip compared to Claire and Jamie in the Outlander Season 6 finale. Here are Roger’s best moments.

Why is it that when Roger and Brianna head out on a road trip, trouble comes to the Ridge? It happened at the end of Outlander Season 5, and now it’s happened at the end of Outlander Season 6.

Bree and Roger had a very different type of road trip. It was one filled with love, serious conversations, and ecstatic moments. Let’s take a look back at Roger’s top moments from the episode.

3 best Roger moments in the Outlander Season 6 finale

Listening to Brianna’s opinions on when to tell Jemmy

There is an important conversation during the episode. When do they tell Jemmy that he has the ability to time travel? They can’t do it when he’s young, but is it wrong to keep this sort of secret from him. Roger has his own opinions, but I love that he actively listens to Brianna’s thoughts.

Roger couldn’t have learned his ability to time travel any earlier than he did. Brianna could have. She is the one who was sort of in Jemmy’s position. He shows he’s interested in her feelings and what it did to her learning the truth at a later age. This sort of respect and understanding is important in a relationship, and I’m so glad the show added it in.

The night in the tent

Of course, Bree and Roger need their intimate moments, and that happened in the tent in the Outlander Season 6 finale. It’s not that moment that I mean, though.

Before that, Roger thought back to the road trip he and Bree took in the 20th century. They get to reminisce, and while they did break up, they discuss how Roger pursued her through time. It’s certainly romantic—or creepy if Bree didn’t actually return any feelings for him, but she did—and I love that Roger is able to talk about the past so calmly.

Realizing Jemmy is his son biologically

The end of the episode saw Bree realize that Jemmy had lice. There is only one remedy considering they’re on the road. They need to chop his hair off, and that leads to the discovery of a birthmark.

I just love how Roger is so matter-of-fact when explaining about the birthmark. He had one. There’s nothing dangerous about it, and it’s hereditary. He doesn’t even realize what that means at first until it all sinks in. He’s already accepted Jemmy as his own, but this makes everyone’s heart burst.

I do wish that this was done while Claire and Jamie were around. I would have loved to see Claire and Jamie’s expressions too. However, I’m glad we did get this moment in the Outlander Season 6 finale, and it all explains why Roger’s hair is short in the Season 7 photos.
