Good news, Sassenachs! While we’re still waiting for a confirmed release date for Outlander Season 6, fans are always thinking ahead. Well, now we have an idea of when to expect Outlander Season 7.
We know production on Season 6 was delayed for months due to the pandemic and because of this, the season has been shortened to eight episodes instead of 12. The new season will also start off with a 90-minute episode.
We also know that the show plans to tack on those four missing episodes from the sixth season onto Outlander Season 7, giving us a total of 16 episodes.
The good news? The show’s seventh season is coming much sooner than we thought!
Outlander Season 7 to premiere in late 2022/early 2023
According to Deadline, production on the show’s seventh season is set to start soon. The publication is reporting that it’s likely we can expect the new season in late 2022 or early 2023! Can you believe what you’re reading?
This is so much sooner than I thought! With pandemic restrictions, the challenges of filming during COVID, and the extended episode count I certainly wasn’t expecting to get Outlander Season 7 this soon!
Outlander Season 6 is coming in early 2022, but Starz hasn’t confirmed a premiere date yet. However, Sam Heughan may have given us the answer. Either way, if Outlander Season 7 premieres later that year, that means we’ll be getting two seasons in the same year. I mean, that’s just a dream for us fans, isn’t it? Completely unheard of for Outlander!
Even early 2023 is much better than what I had in mind. I for sure thought we’d have to wait longer between seasons. This show is a big production and takes a lot of work on all sides – the writers, actors, crew, and everyone else in between. They’re all working extra hard to deliver the seasons as quickly as possible, and we definitely appreciate it!
What do you think about this exciting news? Were you expecting Outlander Season 7 so soon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
