Outlander Season 6 release date updates: When is it coming out?

We know that Outlander Season 6 is going to happen, but we still don’t have an exact premiere date. Just how much do we know about the upcoming season?

We’re on the hunt for absolutely any news we can get about Outlander Season 6. We know the season is happening. In fact, it’s already been filmed and will be going through post-production. That doesn’t stop all the questions we have about what to expect.

The season is going to be focused on A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It’s mostly going to be focused on the Christies, although there are potentially a few other plotlines thrown in there for an episode or two.

How many seasons of Outlander are there?

So far, there are seven seasons of the series planned. Yes, that’s right. Outlander Season 7 was confirmed earlier this year, and it’s going to have 16 episodes.

Five of the seasons are currently available to stream. The first four seasons are on both STARZ and Netflix, but the fifth season is currently only on STARZ. We’re not expecting Season 5 to come to Netflix until May 2022.

Is Season 6 of Outlander going to happen?

Oh yes, it is! The sixth season has already been confirmed and filmed. It’s currently going through the post-production process, with the season planned to head to STARZ in early 2022.

How many episodes are in Outlander Season 6?

There were originally going to be 12 episodes in the season. Things changed due to the pandemic. Filming got started later, and it took longer to film a block of episodes than normal. Because of that, the show and the network opted to reduce the episode count to eight.

The good news is the show’s four missing episodes won’t be gone for good. They’re being added to Outlander Season 7’s episode count.

When is Outlander Season 6 filming?

Filming is already complete. It was supposed to take place in summer 2020 but got pushed to September. Then it got pushed again due to the pandemic to January 2021. Filming did manage to start in January and wrapped in June 2021.
