Jocasta is likely returning on Outlander Season 6
There are a few characters from the books that we’re hoping to see on Outlander Season 6. Aunt Jocasta was one we didn’t think would return, but that may not actually be the case.
If we’re honest, we didn’t expect Aunt Jocasta to return in Outlander Season 6. When you read the books, Jocasta’s storyline takes her north as the Revolutionary War starts.
However, she does have some roles to play in A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Without giving too many spoilers, there is a barbecue and there is a big story involving Phaedre that finally comes out. It was hard to say whether these storylines would happen, especially the Phaedre one. Natalie Simpson’s schedule made it impossible for her to return for Season 5, so it’s hard to say if she’d be able to return for Season 6.
That being said, it looks like there are some plans for Jocasta. It’s all about the World Outlander Day video.

What could Jocasta’s role be in Outlander Season 6?
The World Outlander Day was a chance for the cast of the series to share their thanks to the fans. Cast members from Outlander Season 6 were there, including the new Christie family. We couldn’t help but spot Maria Doyle Kennedy in the video, which hints that she is part of Outlander Season 6.
How could she be utilized? It’s possible that she could just help get Jamie and Claire out of a sticky situation with the Christies. She could also be there for the fire at the Big House storyline that is still to come. After all, have we really seen the last of Donner?
Then there’s the chance that the Phaedre storyline could come up. If I’m honest, I don’t mind if that storyline is missed. There’s so much going on in A Breath of Snow and Ashes that something has to be missed, and this isn’t all too important for the overall story for the Frasers and MacKenzies.
The show could just make sure we’re getting a goodbye for Jocasta. After all, she’s been an important character for two seasons and she deserves a proper goodbye, which Season 6 would allow for.
