The number of episodes in Outlander seasons has changed a few times. How many episodes will Outlander Season 6 have?

The first season started with 16 episodes split in two. Then the show dropped to 13 episodes, and then the fifth season had 12. It’s not common for a TV show to continually change the number of episodes in a season, so it can get a little confusing for Outlander fans.

It’s understandable that you want to know how many episodes will be in the sixth season. At the same time, I can understand if you want more episodes than there are. After all, these are huge books to condense into a TV series!

The bad news is there aren’t extra episodes in Outlander Season 6.

What is the Outlander Season 6 episode count?

When STARZ renewed the series for both Seasons 5 and 6, we learned the episode count. Outlander Season 6 will be just like the fifth season. It’s going to have 12 episodes to tell the story.

What will that story be about? There are already two storylines that have been pushed into the fifth season, so that rules them out.

We do know that the Christies will show up during the season. That means a lot of trouble and drama.

When announcing that Outlander Season 6 has started filming, Elle also shared an interview with Matt B. Roberts. He shared that the season will take place in 1775, which is just a year from the Revolutionary War started. There were hints of that at the end of the fifth season, too. There is a storm brewing, and we may find ourselves in the middle of it during the sixth season.

It is going to be hard to tell the story. The great thing about the writers is they know the most important storylines in terms of overall story. That can mean some of the favorite, intimate scenes are missed, but it’s more important to have the overall story connected.

Outlander Season 6 is currently filming. Stay tuned with Claire and Jamie for the latest updates.
