We officially have confirmation that Outlander Season 6 has started filming. It hasn’t just started, either. There’s a clip that suggests the real start date.
The great news is that filming is underway. Elle shared the exciting news, with Matt B. Roberts talking about the COVID protocols and how some things have changed to make the show COVID-friendly.
We all know that this series isn’t a COVID-friendly one. There are a lot of extras and a lot of intimate scenes. Trying to balance that and keeping things safe for all was tricky, and that’s why it took so long to get back to filming.
However, they’re back. And now we get to look out for filming spoilers or teases. There may even be some casting news to come.
When did Outlander Season 6 filming officially start?
We didn’t get official confirmation of filming until early February 2021, but it seems that filming has been going on for a little longer than that.
When announcing that Outlander Season 6 filming has started, we got a video of the things that have happened. We got glimpses of the costumes, some of the new sets (you saw the church, right?), and the props being used. Take a look at the video below:
Then at the very end of the video is one of the clippers. It has information about what’s being filmed at the time, and there is a date on there. That date is Jan. 7, 2021.
It turns out the show has been filming for the last month. That means it’s possibly almost two episodes down—Outlander usually films in blocks of two episodes at a time—although it’s hard to say with COVID protocols probably slowing things down.
The good news is the show is into filming now and has been for a while. We can finally start looking forward to this sixth season, although we’re still predicting early 2022 for that to be on the safe side.
