Will Outlander get a panel at NYCC Metaverse?
Outlander isn’t scheduled for a panel at NYCC Metaverse
For the last two years, New York Comic-Con has brought us a panel with the Outlander cast and EPs. It’s been an exciting look at the new seasons to come. What about this year?
Will there be an Outlander panel at NYCC 2020? The convention is working very differently this year, with everything going online for NYCC Metaverse. We have some bad news when it comes to our favorite series.
Outlander isn’t getting a panel at NYCC 2020
There isn’t going to be a panel with the cast and EPs of the series. This isn’t a slight against the show. Like with San Diego Comic-Con’s Comic-Con@Home, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to have a panel.
Filming hasn’t started up yet. The cast can’t really talk about anything, and the EPs aren’t going to want to give anything away. We’ve seen with the likes of the PaleyFest panel that there’s very little to tease about the upcoming season, which means a lot of the focus is on the past season. The cast ends up talking about the same things they’ve already discussed.
We don’t even know when the show will premiere. There are talks of filming being on hold until January 2021, which will put a release date into 2022 instead. Next year’s NYCC is probably going to be a better time to talk about the show.
There are other panels for us to watch
While there’s nothing for our series specifically, there are going to be other panels to check out. One of those involves Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish. The two have joined up for a panel to help promote the release of their new book, Clanlands, and the upcoming STARZ series, Men in Kilts.
You can also watch the panel for A Discovery of Witches Season 2, which will include Steven Cree.
There’s plenty to watch outside of our fandom specifically.
