3 best Claire moments on Outlander Season 5, Episode 6
Claire got herself in a sticky situation on Outlander Season 5, Episode 6. Here are the three best Claire moments throughout the episode.
There were certainly some strong and excellent moments for Claire throughout Outlander Season 5, Episode 6. Whether you agree with Claire keeping her ring from Frank or don’t, she showed just how much that ring means to her. She also showed her ability to plan, but it landed her in a sticky situation.
However, she had some brilliant moments. Here are my three favorite Claire moments from “Better to Marry Than Burn.”
3. Interacting with Mrs. Tryon
I love seeing some of the interactions between Claire and other characters. In Outlander Season 5, Episode 6, we got the chance to see Claire interact with Mrs. Tryon. I wish we could see her interact with other women on the series. She needs a female friend as it brings a very different dynamic than as a mother or mother-in-law.
We saw Claire just relax a little. It all changed when Phillip Wylie showed up, but I got a feeling of her friendship with Louise in France, and I’d love to see her have someone like that again.
2. Not wanting Jamie to take the ring
I completely understand why Claire wears Frank’s ring. But you know what, I don’t even need to understand it. I don’t let something harmless bother me. Those saying that she should take Frank’s ring off for Jamie’s feelings should also agree then that Claire should have removed Jamie’s ring when she was with Frank.
Honestly, I love that Claire didn’t want to take her ring off. She didn’t want Jamie to risk gambling it. She already almost lost it because of Bonnet once and now he was getting in the way again. This wasn’t about getting revenge for Bree and she managed to call Jamie out on his need for revenge for himself. Was it really worth the almost loss of her ring?
1. Trying to deal with Phillip Wylie
Before the situation with the ring, Claire found out that Phillip Wylie was dealing with an Irish smuggler in Wilmington. Knowing that Bonnet was there, she was sure Wylie was dealing with Bonnet.
She didn’t have time to find Jamie. Instead, she realized that there was a chance she could convince Wylie into a business proposal herself. She’s not used to being an 18th-century woman, even now. It’s not easy to accept that she shouldn’t be dealing with business and that it would come across as something else. As a modern woman, I respect her attempts but also to step back when she believed it was over.
