3 best Jamie moments on Outlander Season 5, Episode 4

Jamie Fraser made it to Brownsville to find he had to defuse a tense situation. Here are my three favorite Jamie moments from Outlander Season 5, Episode 4.

We headed to Brownsville in Outlander Season 5, Episode 4. Claire and Jamie arrived to find Roger in the middle of a tense situation. It’s time to break down my favorite Jamie moments.

There was a lot going on throughout “The Company We Keep.” Jamie had to pick up the mess that an inexperienced Roger caused, but at the same time, he needed to figure out what he and Claire would do with the abandoned Beardsley baby. Here are my three favorite Jamie moments from the episode.

3. Jamie’s dancing

There’s no doubt that Jamie’s dancing needs to be mentioned. It was something from the novels that we weren’t sure would be included, and it’s always fun to see these sorts of moments included. We have a chance to see Claire and Jamie have fun, have smiles on their faces. It doesn’t happen a lot, and it won’t happen too much later in the season.

The moment was also important because of the dance that Jamie did. While he danced around the swords, Sam Heughan did a Highland Fling, which represents the kicking off the British’s shackles.

2. Finding a way to help Isaiah Morton

At the end of the episode, we got to see Jamie do what he does best. He helped Isaiah Morton and Alicia Brown get out of Brownsville. He knew just how much he’d do for Claire and could see that same love the young couple shared, even if Morton is married to someone else.

We got a moment that connected back to the first season. As Jamie used the horses at dawn, all I could think of was the cows Claire and the Highlanders used to get Jamie out of Wentworth.

1. Trying to understand Roger’s actions

I know you’d expect me to put the moonlight conversation on this point. However, something I will note is that I try to avoid putting something on this list that I’ll put on my overall favorite moments (spoiler for that list). Plus, that was more of a Jamie and Claire moment.

Instead, it’s all about Jamie trying to figure out how to clean up Roger’s mess. At the same time, he wants to understand the decisions that Roger made. He can tell in this moment that Roger was never ready for the pressure put on him, and I do get a sense of him trying to figure out what the people are like in the 18th century.
