Outlander Season 5, Episode 2 is going to be the most mixed episode of the season. However, it also brought up some big questions moving forward.

There are mixed opinions about Outlander Season 5, Episode 2. Some loved it, some hated it. That’s not all that surprising with an episode that does deviate from the books fairly substantially. However, one thing that is clear is that this episode pushes a number of storylines forward.

By pushing storylines forward, this episode raises a number of big questions. Here are the five biggest from “Between Two Fires.”

5. Can Jamie look at Murtagh in the same way again?

Jamie learned that Murtagh was the one leading the raid at Hillsborough, and that certainly came as a shock. He never expected Murtagh to cause so much damage, especially physically injuring people on purpose. It’s a line that Jamie wouldn’t have crossed.

Can Jamie look at Murtagh the same again? Can he understand why Murtagh would cross this line? It could separate them even more.

4. Does Marsali replace the Malva storyline?

I won’t complain if the Christies never show up. The Malva storyline is one of my least favorite in “The Fiery Cross.” There’s a lot that comes from it, but it isn’t really necessary with everything else going on. My hope is that Marsali will replace Malva completely.

3. Will the people of the Ridge listen to “Dr. Rawlings?”

It’s not going to be easy to get the people of the Ridge to change their thoughts. They’re bound to be set in their ways. And they’re listening to men that they have known and trusted for some time. One of the big questions for them will be who this “Dr. Rawlings” is. Claire is doing what she can to help with preventative methods, but it’s an uphill battle.

2. Will Roger try to get Brianna to talk about Bonnet?

Roger has seen the drawings Brianna has done of Bonnet. Will he be worried about Bonnet returning? Of course not. He believes that Bonnet is dead, so he likely just things that Bree is struggling to get past the rape and the trauma that came with it.

He’ll want Bree to open up about her feelings. Will he try to force her to talk or just wait until she’s ready?

1. What will Bonnet do next?

Bonnet is out there. We’ve just had a glimpse of him, but that’s it. What we don’t know is what exactly he’s going to do next. There’s one thing for certain though. He believes Jemmy is his son.

He’ll likely head out to find Brianna. Will he claim Jemmy as his son publically? That could certainly cause problems for Bree, Roger, and the entire family.
