Roger deals with caught between the past and the future. Here are my three favorite moments involving him in Outlander Season 5, Episode 2.

After getting married and being made captain of Jamie’s militia, it’s time for Roger to step up. However, that’s not going to be easy when he’s thinking of his own time. He had some excellent moments in Outlander Season 5, Episode 2, and now I’m looking at my favorite three.

Roger got some moments with both Brianna and Claire, two women he’s able to open up to. And something that I love is that he is more communicative, sharing his thoughts and trying to work through his feelings.

3. Communicating with Brianna

One thing Bree and Roger didn’t do much of in Outlander Season 4 was communicate well. That’s changing in the fifth season already. As Brianna teaches Roger how to shoot, the two are able to have a conversation.

There are talks of the Tufty Fluffy Club and things from the future, but this is more of a conversation of what could happen in the past. Roger things about the Regulators, the militia, and everything he can’t offer his wife and son.

One thing he does do is share that Bree and Jemmy are both his family. He wants to be with them, but he is also honest about his feelings about staying in the past. Honesty goes a long way.
