Outlander Season 5 will see Brianna and Roger get married. This is naturally an emotional time for parents, but it’s all the more emotional for Claire.

A wedding of a child is emotional for parents. It’s that step forward in life, seeing the child they raised from birth move off in the big world alone. However, for Claire Fraser, Brianna’s wedding is going to be all the more emotional.

Back in Outlander Season 3, Claire left her daughter in 1968 for Jamie. She believed she and Bree would never see each other again, that she would never get to see her daughter get married and have children of her own. And then Bree turned up in the 1760s in Season 4.

Of course, Bree wasn’t originally going to remain in the past. Her plan was to warn Claire and Jamie of the obituary she’d found and then get back to her own time. Even when Roger found her in the past, their plan was to return to their own time. Then things changed when Brianna found out she was pregnant.

Now Claire gets to see it all, which is something Caitriona Balfe talked to Vogue about. And while Jamie also gets something that he never thought he’d see, Claire spent 20 years with Brianna. Jamie spent those 20 years just hoping that his wife and child had survived. For Claire, she knew what she was likely going to miss out on, what she was sacrificing by choosing Jamie.

Claire gets to see her daughter happy, marrying the man she loves. She gets something she never thought was possible and isn’t going to waste a second.
