W Network counts down the best Outlander friendships
W Network continues to promote Outlander on a weekly basis. In a video running up to Christmas, the Canadian network gave us the best Outlander friendships.
The romantic relationships and family bonds in Outlander are important, but so are the platonic relationships. The brotherhoods without blood, the unrequited love-turned-friends, and the loyal companies all make the show and books what they are. W Network is a strong supporter of Outlander and routinely shows it with regular social media promotion, and the latest comes in the form of counting down the best friendships.
The Canadian network offered its top seven friendships, and it all started with Fiona and Roger. Fiona, the granddaughter of Mrs. Graham, liked Roger as more than a friend but he didn’t share the same thoughts. Rather than getting jealous, she handed back Claire’s pearls knowing that they were never really hers to keep (in the show, of course) and helped Roger get through the stones to help Brianna. This friendship is certainly a mention.
And of course, so is the friendship between Rollo and Young Ian. Introduced in Outlander Season 4, Rollo quickly became a loyal member of the family. And he was so adorable when not attacked. He’s remained with Young Ian for now, but I’m sure we’ll see him back in the near future.
You can also expect Lord John Grey (the video does have a typo that someone clearly didn’t spot before posting! Oops!) to show up. Sadly, it’s only the once and I’ll leave you to see which of the friendships it is.
There are two that aren’t quite friendships. Roger and Brianna and Claire and Jamie both show up as the top Outlander friendships. I’d argue that as they’re couples, they don’t technically belong on the list. I would put Rupert and Angus at the top of the Outlander friendship lists and Lord John Grey’s friendship with a certain someone also needs to be there.
Mind you, I’m reminded of the reunion video W Network did, which included Jamie and Brianna’s first meeting. It wasn’t a reunion to me since they’d never met, but it was certainly a big moment nonetheless. At least W Network continually supports Outlander during Droughtlander to keep the best moments on the TV show in our minds.
I’ll leave you with the video so you can decide which the best friendship is on this list and then make your own.
