Diana Gabaldon confirms plenty of writing over Christmas break
Expecting Diana Gabaldon to take a break over Christmas like many of us? It sounds like that isn’t in the cards, as she confirms there’s plenty of writing to be done.
Fans love to know what their favorite stars and authors are doing over the holiday period. We like to know that they’re looking after themselves, which is why Outlander fans have asked is Diana Gabaldon is putting “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone” on hold over Christmas to celebrate.
It turns out she’s not planning on taking much time off. While she will probably take Christmas Day off, for the most part, to be with family, the rest of the time she is planning to write. After all, she promised to have the novel finished by the end of the year, and there is only a week of the year left!
Gabaldon confirmed her plans in a tweet, sharing that she is “writing like a fiend.” However, she didn’t share the amount of writing she still has to complete. With some of the Daily Lines being repeated to celebrate Advent, it’s a sign that the writing is close to the end. It’s harder to share Daily Lines without major plot spoilers, and Diana has only ever wanted to tease and not spoil.
With all that being said, we’re not expecting Outlander Book 9 to be released until sometime in 2020. Diana Gabaldon believes “earlyish” in the year, but it will depend on the publishers. Once she’s written the novel, the dates and timelines are out of her hand.
You can already pre-order “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone” though. This is a chance to make sure your copy is ordered so you don’t have to worry about it when it comes to the release.
