During the last Droughtlander, we had Daily Lines from Diana Gabaldon to keep us entertained. They’re getting less frequent now and it’s for a good reason.

Diana Gabaldon helped us get through the last Droughtlander with her Daily Lines. Now and then (sometimes literally daily) she would share a snippet of the latest parts of her novel, “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone,” on social media. They were some sweet and exciting insights into life on the Ridge and the storylines of individual characters.

Those Daily Lines have been less frequent in recent months and we won’t be able to rely on them as frequently to get through this current Droughtlander. This isn’t because Gabaldon wants us to suffer but the contrary. Outlander Book 9 is getting closer to publication.

It’s slated to be released this year. We’ll likely have to wait for the end of the year, but it’s coming and that’s the reason for the less frequent Daily Lines. Gabaldon doesn’t want to give us spoilers, and she’s mentioned that it’s getting harder to find snippets that don’t have even minor spoilers.

In the past, Gabaldon has omitted spoilers from snippets that haven’t made it hard to understand the plot line. However, it sounds like even that isn’t possible anymore.

We got an update earlier this week, but the start of February was when we got the last one. And before that was January. And while there have been Daily Lines from her previous books, they’ve not quite been the same as the teases from the upcoming novel.

However, it’s a sign that we’re getting to the end. I’d appreciate that Gabaldon isn’t giving us the spoilers out of the novel (especially spoilers out of context of previous scenes to completely confuse us). Daily Lines have been great, though, and I can’t wait to see how it’s all put together.
