Ron D. Moore shares there’s going to be a character back in Outlander Season 5 who we said goodbye to in Season 4. Just who would that be?
Ron D. Moore may be busy on his new space series, For All Mankind, but he is still passionate about Outlander. Matt B. Roberts and Toni Graphia have taken over the daily running of the show, but Moore is behind the scenes playing an important role. And that means he knows for sure that there’s a returning character in Outlander Season 5.
While talking to Rotton Tomatoes, Moore shared that this is a character we said goodbye to in the fourth season. There were a few characters that we saw leave, but there’s only one that really stands out. Whether you’re a book fan or not, you know that Young Ian is an extremely important member of the Fraser/Murray clan.
The last we saw of him, he’d joined the Mohawks. Passing the gauntlet, he proved that he was a worthy member of the tribe. It was a fitting ending to his storyline in that moment after all the time he’d spent learning about the people. He was fascinated by their differences, their culture, and their language.
But will his time with the Mohawks last? Is that it forever?
Fans of the books will know what’s in store for Young Ian in the future. He certainly does show up again, and Rollo is back with him. I won’t go into the details of why and how, but it is likely Young Ian that Moore is referring to when he mentions the returning character.
By the way, he definitely didn’t mean Stephen Bonnet or Jocasta, who we know will show up again. We didn’t say goodbye to either of them, and he specifically mentions that both of these characters get more screentime in the fifth season.
Who do you think Moore could be referring to? What would you like to see in Outlander Season 5? Who would you like to see return? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
